Raw Lavender Honey is a striking light amber colour. Our bees produce this honey in the hives that we have located in fields of broadleaved lavender (Lavandula latifolia), topped lavender (Lavandula stoechas),and also Lavandula latifolia Medicus. Its aroma is strongly reminiscent of lavender fields and its flavour can have a bitter touch which is very relaxing.
Raw Lavender Honey is rich in vitamins and has a number of health and medical benefits such as diuretic, antiseptic, relaxing, healing, soothing, anti-rheumatic, antibacterial and antiviral properties.
This artisan Natural Raw Honey is produced by one of the oldest beekeeping families in Spain. Since 1860 five generations of beekeepers have been passing on a deep love of nature and an admiration of the world of the bee to bring us the magic and health benefits of natural raw honey. It was in 1944 that the beekeeping activity became a full time business, initiating at the time the transhumance of beehives across Portugal and Spain including a number of national parks (transporting beehives from one location to another). This results in raw honey varieties of extremely high quality with clearly defined flavours and aromas as well as some very unique properties. It is quality certified and international award-winning.
Honey source: Castilla & Leon, Spain.
